As a brand that highlights brilliant ideas in every issue, the team at Idealog wanted to bring the celebration of Kiwi ingenuity to life with a ‘dragons den’ style event.
By promoting the concept and event through Idealog and StopPress, they selected three promising entrepreneurs to state their case before a room of their peers. While the campaigning was going on, an app was created to manage the judging process, which ran live during the event.
Just as importantly, sponsorship from Johnnie Walker was secured to finance the event (and the beverage supply)! More recently, Cointreau came on board as key sponsor.
Seven successful events later, Pitch Circus has become an Idealog institution. Each winner has received coverage in the magazine – and the real success story is the number of them that are now running their own businesses.
