Customer Services Representative / Prepress - Hamilton

About the role

The main purpose of this role is to provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. Based in our satellite office in Panama Square you will provide relationship management, supporting our local Account Manager and assisting with logistics and management reports as required.

  • Ensure that excellent customer service is delivered over the phone and for “walk ins” to all clients at all times.
  • Take briefs from clients, ensure the instructions on the job are clear, concise and accurately reflect the client’s request
  • Liaise with clients to ensure that design meets their requirements, action any amendments accordingly
  • Perform basic preflight operation producing proofs through drop folders and online tools.
  • Create quote ensuring all relevant processes are included
  • Creation job bag in Print IQ
  • Coordinating with our production team
  • Have estimate checked, as per standard operating procedure if unsure
  • If there are any changes to initial job specification as a result of client requests, liaise with the sales and production teams to ensure these changes are actioned accordingly and communicated to clients.

About you

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience

  • Excellent written and oral skills- ability to be clear and concise when communicating, excellent telephone manner
  • Print industry experience preferred 
  • Mac Operator or experience with Prepress would be an advantage
  • Ability to work well under pressure, strong attention to detail
  • Print IQ - experience would be a plus
  • Intermediate Excel & intermediate Word
  • 2 years front line CSR experience

Editorial Director - Business & Content

SCG Media is looking for a talented Editorial Director - Business & Content to provide editorial leadership across our portfolio of Business titles (NZ Marketing Magazine, StopPress and Idealog).

Working alongside the CEO, you will deliver team leadership, audience engagement and commercial outcomes across these titles.  Additionally, a genuine ability to network effectively across marketing, advertising and other related industries is required.

We are a fast-paced company and grow through the combined strengths of our people working as a cohesive whole. You will need to be self-driven, curious and a team player as well as accustomed to working well under pressure.

As an Editorial Director, you will be responsible for 

  • Provide editorial leadership, audience engagement and commercial outcomes across the SCG Media Business Titles portfolio.
  • Work with the CEO and Executive Team to establish and execute the strategic plans of the titles.
  • Deliver products – magazines, websites, events and one-off projects – on time, to budget and in a professional and creative manner. 
  • Act as the spokesperson and connector between the brands and their communities.
  • Deliver profitability within agreed KPIs.
  • Manage and commission journalists, writers, photographers and staff.
  • Ensure a disciplined approach is embedded for all people working across the Business & Client owned titles.
  • Provide strategic editorial/ content input on SCG B2B clients and their publications/ products as required.
  • Work within the team to construct cohesive editorial plans.
  • Create commercial initiatives and content in support of the Commercial Manager.
  • Create compelling articles and ensure they are in a clean state, ready for publishing.

We are looking for a keen candidate with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Formal journalistic or media qualification or journalism experience.
  • Experience in the Business/Marketing magazine sector is preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills. 
  • Proven track record in creating commercial outcomes.
  • Digital and social media experience. 
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Open to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Excellent time management.

Digital Printer - Nightshift

As a Soar Communication's Cut Sheet Group's Digital Printer, the main purpose is the operation of our Digital Printing Devices. Night shifts work is a requirement, as the role will be 3 x 12-hour shifts. Days of week negotiable. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate printing jobs as instructed
  • Ensure the next jobs are ready for the Press, including paper and any other consumables
  • Maintain all consumables on sire
  • Communicate status and issues at the shift changeover
  • Maintenance of machinery by adhering to maintenance schedule specified by company policy or as directed by the Team Leader
  • Various print production related tasks and duties in the factory as required by the department manager from time to time. 
  • Cleanliness of machinery and work area by ensuring all waste is disposed of. 
  • Adherence to the 5 S regime. 
  • Ensure that all paperwork and reports required are completed correctly and on time. 
  • Health and safety compliance by adhering to company health and safety policy.

Account Manager

As SCG’s Sales Account Manager, your role is to sell print, design and creative solutions to existing and new clients, and meet or exceed your monthly sales targets.  We want you to look at the marketing spend of each client with a view to gaining the lions share, through building trusted working relationships with our clients.

Your skills are critical to the success of the business, but this is a no prima-donna operation. Everyone is here to produce great work and have fun on the way.  This requires accurate quoting, detailed job bags, reasonable timeframes and correct delivery specifications – our production team are experts and here to make your jobs shine and will work for a tight deadline to ensure the job is done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters relating to your customers
  • Scope and understand your customers marketing and collateral needs and sell SCG print, creative and design solutions to meet those needs.
  • Take a brief and calculate the quotation using PRINT IQ quoting software.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with your key accounts.
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to exceed sales quotas
  • Monitor the changing requirements of the customer
  • Keep the end in mind when quoting and designing work for clients. 
  • Find cost-effective solutions to stay ahead of our competitors.
  • Conduct ongoing research on competitors’ products, prices and customer bases. 
  • Negotiate on price (within agreed parameters) delivery window and production lead times with customers and production team to obtain the sale
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Identify and grow opportunities within client base and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth attainment.

About You

  • Proven track record as a successful Account Manager
  • Experience in Signage / Large Format print sales an advantage
  • Print quoting experience – Print IQ software or similar 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large accounts
  • Tech savvy
